COMMAND SERGEANT MAJOR (RETIRED)
JOHN M. (JACK) BOTTI
 

Command Sergeant Major (CSM) Ret. John M. Botti enlisted in the US Army in 1975.  He served as an Infantry Medic for four years in the Berlin Brigade, West Berlin, Germany.  He reenlisted in the Army Reserves and held numerous positions and completed various missions with the 340th General Hospital from 1979 - 1992, and the 405th Combat Support Hospital (CSH) 1992 – 1999, and deployed to Bosnia in 1997 as the First Sergeant and interim CSM.  He was promoted to Command Sergeant Major in 1999 and served as Class President at the US Army Sergeants Major Academy 2002.  CSM Botti served as the 443rd Civil Affairs (CA) Battalion CSM, (Special Operations Command) 1999 - 2002, and the 304th CA Brigade CSM 2002 – 2005, and deployed to Operation Enduring Freedom/Operation Iraqi Freedom 2003-2004. He also served as the 405th CSH CSM 2005 - 2009 and the 4-415th Senior ROTC Battalion CSM 2009 - 2013. 

CSM Botti is the recipient of numerous awards, decorations and campaign medals including the Legion of Merit Medal, Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (twice), Army Commendation Medal (7 times), Army of Occupation Medal, NATO Medal, CT Wartime Service Medal, Cold War Medal, Combat Action Badge, Expert Field Medic Badge and the German Schützenschnur (Bronze) Badge. The Navy Presidential Unit Citation (Iraq), The Army Meritorious Unit Citation (Iraq), and The Army Superior Unit Award (Bosnia).

CSM Botti retired with over thirty-eight years of military service. 

John Botti is also retired from the State of CT after twenty-eight years of service.

John is the current Commander of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, (VFW) Middlesex Post 583, Assistant Sergeant of Arms American Legion Post 75, life member of the Diabled American Veterans Chapter 7, Chairman of the Finance Committee and serves on the Board of Directors of the Greater Middletown Military Museum, (GMMM).

John is also the Past CT VFW District 6 Commander, Past Commander of the Council of Veterans Organizations of Middletown, CT and Former Vice President of the GMMM.

John moved to Andover in 2019 with his family.

COLONEL (RETIRED)
SUSAN CAMORODA

 

COL (R) Susan Camoroda was commissioned through the Army ROTC program at California State University, Fresno in 1985, and retired in 2015. As a Signal Officer, COL Camoroda served for over 26 Years active service and 30 years commissioned service in the Active Army, the Active Guard and Reserve (AGR), and traditional Army National Guard, with tours in Germany with the 7th Signal Brigade (1988-1991) and the 5/7 Air Defense Artillery Battalion (PATRIOT) 1994-1996; South Korea with the 20th Support Command in Taegu and the 751st Military Intelligence Battalion; and numerous positions in the U.S. including instructor at the Military Intelligence School at Ft Huachuca, AZ,  Operations Officer in The Joint Staff at the Pentagon and as a Division Chief at Cyber Command at Ft Belvoir VA.

COL Camoroda’s  Awards and Decorations include: the Legion of Merit (2nd award), the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal, the Army Commendation Medal (9th award), the Army Achievement Medal (2nd award), the National Defense Service Medal (2d award), the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the Korea Defense Service Medal, the Army Service Medal, the Overseas Service Ribbon (4th award), the Army Reserve Forces Overseas Training Ribbon, the Armed Forces Reserve Medal (with Mobilization Device), the South West Asia Service Medal, the Parachutist Badge, the Joint Meritorious Unit Award, the Army Superior Unit Award (2d Award), the Joint Chiefs of Staff Identification Badge and the Army Staff Badge.

Since moving to Andover in December 2021, Susan has become a member of various Veterans organizations: American Legion Post 197 where she is the Post Service Office; the Colchester Veterans Funerals Honors Guard; the Charter Oak chapter of the Military Officers Association of America (MOAA); and the Eastern Connecticut Veterans Community Center. In her civilian careers she has management experience in both manufacturing and service/retail companies.
