Andover Community Garden
Offering Plots for 2025
The Andover Community Garden Committee is actively planning for the 2025 growing season. Maybe you’ve always wanted to try your hand at gardening, but don’t have the available space in your own yard? The Committee is offering plots, free of charge, to any interested Andover residents who would like to have their own garden space. All ages and abilities welcome. There are twelve 8’x10’ beds being offered on a first-come, first-served basis. The garden is located on School Road between the Andover Volunteer Fire Dept and the new Community Center.
Bed owners will be responsible for planting vegetables/flowers/herbs of their choice (there may be some restrictions), watering, fertilizing, weeding, mulching, harvesting, and season-end bed cleanup. The Committee will be responsible for over-winter bed preparation as well as fertilizing and tilling. The garden shed has tools available, and there is an on-site watering system to make things easier for you. We also have a couple of long-time gardeners on the Committee who may be able to help with questions about your garden. The growing season is approximately May-September, depending on what you plant.
If you don’t want a garden bed but would like to help out in other ways, the Committee is always looking for volunteers for various duties.
To request a garden plot for 2025, volunteer, or ask any questions, please contact the Committee on their Facebook page, Andover (CT) Community Garden.
