Important Notice: SCAM ALERT - Beware of Ongoing Scam Attempts

We want to alert our valued applicants to a recent scam targeting individuals by impersonating The Building and Land Use Department.

What’s happening:
We’ve been made aware of fraudulent messages (via email) going out to applicants requiring additional application fees for an application to be approved. 

What you should know:

• We never ask for additional payments through wire transfer. Fees for any applications are discussed in person with the applicant. 
• All email communications will come from our verified channels, such as [email protected], [email protected], or [email protected], or from PermitLink.com, our online permitting portal.  
• If you receive any suspicious communication, do not click on any links or provide any information.

What to do if you are contacted:

1. Do not respond.
2. Take a screenshot or copy the message.
3. Report it to us immediately at 860-742-7305 x4219 or x4221.

We take your security seriously and are actively working to shut down these scams. Please remain vigilant and contact us if you have any concerns.

The Andover Inland Wetlands and Watercourses Commission invites volunteers to fill four vacancies for alternate members. The Commission plays a vital role in land use decisions by reviewing applications for regulated activities and overseeing enforcement of wetlands regulations. Anyone interested in serving should contact either the Commission Chairman at [email protected] or the Wetlands Agent at [email protected].

The commission is charged by Connecticut General Statutes, §22a-45 to regulate activities in or near wetlands and/or watercourses in the Town of Andover.
Five members appointed by the Board of Selectmen who shall serve two year terms.
