SENIOR TAG SALE

The Andover Senior Lunch Fund Raising Committee is in the process of collecting donations for their Annual Tag Sale that will be held Saturday, April 27, 2024.   We are looking for items to sell.  Start your spring cleaning early and get these items out of your way.

The tag sale is a big fundraiser for the senior lunch program, please help us to raise the funds needed to support this program.

The Municipal Agent for the Elderly is available to help the seniors of Andover with information, and referrals to local, state, and federal programs that are available to them such as; ConnPACE, Medicare, Medicaid, Food Stamps, heating oil assistance, and renters rebate. 

SENIOR EVENTS 

The following new items have been updated for Andover seniors, veterans, and disabled. If you want to attend any events, call senior coordinator Cathy Palazzi 860-916-6122 to register. Transportation available for all events. Shopping on Tuesdays, Food share/food pantry rides on Wednesday, lunches on Fridays. For all YAH meetings, including movies please contact Sue Schmidt 860-604-1057, for all trip information contact Carol Lee, Town Clerk 860-742-0188 X2.  
Shopping Dates: Willimantic Tuesdays: 12/5, 12/19 Manchester Tuesdays: 12/12 and Thursday 12/28.
Senior luncheon will be held at town hall community room at noon on Thursday 11/30 lunch, 12/15 Christmas lunch with entertainment by Carolyn Brodginski. Reservations required for all lunches – no walk ins accepted.
Trips coming up: Christmas Party 12/1, Branford Christmas Show Friday 12/8, Christmas Tree Shop and Evergreen Walk on December 7, Festival of Lights Thursday, December 14, Nautilus Museum, time for shopping and the Shack for lunch 12/22. Please contact Carol Lee to sign up and Palazzi for a ride. 
Bus available for Food Pantry on Mondays at 5:00 pm. Shopping on Tuesdays to either Manchester or Willimantic. On Wednesday’s transportation available to food share or food pantry. 
Please check the senior page of town website at andoverct.org for all senior events and information. 
Rides to all town events, town meetings, referendums, Election Day voting, board meetings and all medicals available by calling Palazzi. All seniors, veterans, disabled are welcome. If you have a caregiver, they may come with you. 
We welcome new seniors, disabled and veterans to all events. Call Palazzi for all luncheon reservations and transportation needs including medicals, food share, food pantry, weekly shopping, movie rides, town meetings and scheduled voting dates.

SENIOR UPDATES:

Medicals:
If you have appointments and would like senior transportation to take you, call Cathy Palazzi at 860-916-6122 to reserve a ride. All seniors welcome and any ADA individual or veterans who need rides are most welcome. Masks must be worn in the van if you have a caregiver that person may come with you. Temperatures will be taken by the driver.

Shopping:
The bus will pick you up at your home and take you shopping to Manchester on Tuesdays at 6:00 a.m. Masks must be worn and temperatures will be taken by driver before clients can access the bus. Call Cathy Palazzi at 860-916-6122 for a ride.

Food Pantry/Food Share:
If you are homebound and are in need of Andover Food Pantry and Foodshare delivery, please contact Municipal Agent Roberta Dougherty by Mondays at 12:30 P.M. to receive delivery for the that Wednesday. 
All deliveries will be made by senior transportation drivers. Food will be placed outside senior’s door. Click here for the schedule.
