Andover Public Library

In January 1896, the Andover Public Library opened to the public. It was first located in the Congregational Church Conference House, and shared space with some of the town’s school children. On November 12, 1927, a new building on the corner of Long Hill Road and Route 6 was dedicated as the town’s library: the Burnap-Skinner Memorial Library. Today, the library now known as the Andover Public Library is still a thriving part of the community, and we invite everyone to stop by and see how much material can be found in such a small building. The library hosts a myriad of events for the entire community, including book discussion for Adults, Story Time for children, and also can lend passes to museums in the greater Hartford Area. The Andover Library also maintains a BLOG filled with useful information.

“Friendly staff who will get any book you want; it’s convenient, well-stocked, and great for kids.” – Lynn

Looking for a Book?

Check the library’s holdings on reQuest. Andover items are listed first. If we own the book you want, call the library to check if it’s available. If we don’t, order it through reQuest, and we’ll try to get what you need through interlibrary loan.

To submit an interlibrary loan request: Click the green box in the upper right corner that reads, “Request this item.” A form will pop up – fill out the required fields, and that’s it. Any questions, call the library at 742-7428.
